About Us

Painting furniture with a variety of glazes and decorative motifs adapted from a client’s fabrics is one way in which to individualize a room.  One-of-a-kind pieces are created by combining faux wood, stone or marble with custom mixed colors and patterns or designs found in the textiles used in a room.

Trompe l’oeil, a French term literally meaning “trick the eye”, is the art of painting so realistically that
the viewer is fooled for a moment into believing that an object exists.  Both playful and intellectually serious, trompe can be used to change the entire look of a room by disguising decorative problems. It is used to create illusions of false perspectives or special effects on walls, ceilings, floors and furniture, and it is often combined with other faux finishes.

From the painstaking selection of the paint colors used to perfectly coordinate with the fabrics,  to the studious research in selecting the ideal motif, to the perfection of their execution, every aspect is thoughtfully and most carefully chosen.  In the eight years we have worked together and the hundreds of pieces they have completed for me, I have grown ever more impressed with the incredible quality and diversity of the work of Dale Michaels Wade and Helen Doane.
